Internal Blog and/or Knowledge Base

Dear all,

I'm doing an online survey for the different options available for setting up an internal Blog and/or Knowledge base (free and open source)

It should be a web-based, in order to make all the team share their thoughts and knowledge even if outside the office.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Would dokuwiki fit the purpose?
https://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki

It's:
- web based
- good collaboration mechanisms
- syntax is really easy.
- many plugins are available

DokuWiki and Wordpress are probably the easiest options.

Can I comment through DokuWiki?

Depending what kind of commenting you mean. Have a look at this instance of dokuwiki
http://docs.slackware.com/slackware:install

At the top you'll see the Discussion tab where authors/editors discuss/comment the article.

Is that what you mean?

I mean if someone posted something wrong, can anyone of the team write a comment below, so that the editor can fix this fault?

That's what the discussion tab is for in dokuwiki. Theoretically, you could write something below the actual text (using a different font colour, for example). I'm not sure if there are any specific plugins for that.

The whole point of a wiki is that anyone on the team can fix the fault. Not just the "editor".

Now we have two options: WordPress / DokuWiki
I'm searching online for features and differences between both, to pick a system and test it on my VM.

Any help will be appreciated.

While the functionality of the two may overlap, they are two completely different things. Dokuwiki is a wiki and Wordpress is a blogging platform / Content Management System. From what I understand what you're trying to achieve, I'd go with dokuwiki.

I think you are right, I like Wiki style too :)

Could you please share with me any useful info regarding this system, anyway I'm on the website now.

Thank you very much for your time and support!

I have been working with dokuwiki on two separate projects and I find it efficient. The only thing I can recommend is stydying its syntax and available plugins:

very useful. Thanks!
