IExplorer access to proftpd

I have setup proftpd and can access it using ftp clients like filezilla from wiindows machines, but cannot access the ftp server from the FTP client built into IExplorer. IExplorer continually times out when trying to get folder contents. Any sugestions on how to fix this?

Make sure it has ftp enabled in its settings.

Also, moving this to General, its not Linux technically related as its a IE question.

Your right, sorry for the bad post. I found that my problem was related to deselecting use of passive ftp in the advanced settings for IE.
