Ideas for semi-borken laptop I cant keep?

Hi,

I have a semi-working laptop (floppy and battery dont work). As I am moving overseas and have way too much crap to take I need to dispose of it. I kind of think it is environmentally unfriendly to throw it in the bin. Any ideas on what I can do? eg is there a way to recyle computers or do you think I can even sell it given the battery is not working (its not the battery itself). Or do charities take them?

Thanks,

Mark

Hand it over to a charity shop (after making sure the hd is wiped) or sell it and say what's wrong with it. There may be someone with the same laptop who has a working floppy/battery but the alptop is borked.

It's still useable - I get my laptops on Ebay, sell it there. Replacement floppy drives aren't hard to get ahold of, and I don't use my batteries much on my laptops.

I know that in UK/Europe they are trying to recycle more computers/TVs etc. So I'm sure there is somewhere that you can take it to have it recycled

Hi,

How would this work though. If I send a laptop how do I know you will send the money. And from your point of view if you send money how do you know I will send you a laptop! Is there a way around this issue?

Thanks,

Mark
