i18n?

Hi all,

What is i18n, is it some unicode standard?

dave_starsky 05-29-2004 09:05 AM

I believe it's the process of planning and developing products so that they can be changed to meet the requirements of specific local languages and cultures.

(according to http://www.softwareag.com/xml/about/glossary.htm#I anyway)

I though so too, but what is it precisely, anyone used it?

i18n stands for internationalization. It's not a product - it's a process. It's used in nearly all famous projects like KDE or GNOME. You have for example http://i18n.kde.org/
