Okie, don't quit redhat .. it's a cool linux.. heheh.. oh man.. have you heard of http://freshrpms.net/apt/ ?.. It does solve dependencies when you install it on redhat.. which i use it instead of up2date. Hell, I'm even update my up2date with apt-get up2date ..

Anyway.. you can try other linux such as debian, suse, etc... esp slackware if you want to do a lot of hardwork ... but if you can't handle redhat.. slackware won't be a good choice for you ..

I only use bsd one.. didn't get familiar with it yet, and i heard it have port collection, which solve dependencies problem. hehehe.. Dependencies in redhat because you use rpm.. in my opinion working with source actually more fun .. Btw, you can also build source into rpm if you like the reverse effect ..
