I Need Help resetting windows password


So right now i am trying to use chntpw to reset my windows password. Right now i am trying to figure out my hard drive name and how to mount it. When i try running cfdisk from terminal it just says fatal error cannot open disk drive. What should i do?

Just download "NT Password", burn it to a disk and boot off of it. Then it will walk you through resetting or removing windows passwords. You can get the iso from here.

problem from that is when i want to make a bootable usb it says "Install bootloader on the USB drive, from command prompt in windows (start the command line with "run as administrator" if possible)" when only being on Ubuntu is possible

Trinity Rescue Kit has a tool for resetting the Windows password.

I haven't used that particular tool, but I have used TRK to clean up a Windows computer and it works very nicely.
