I like how this laptop is multi-purpose


Even if it is microsoft I really like this surface book. I have wanted something like this for years and it seems like they finally worked it out how to do it right with a good hinge and a good attachment system.

Now I wonder if it will run linux or will they cripple it?

If I were considering one, I'd go to into a Microsoft Store and ask the salesperson there to demonstrate how to disable Secure Boot.

I don't think you would find too many inclined to do that.

It's possible but I think most of the salespeople would instead try to convince you why you shouldn't do that and why you should use Windows instead of Linux.
