I have created the theme song of Linus Torvalds.

Since July 16th, I've been working on a tune that could represent Linus Torvalds. Today, I completed it, and uploaded it onto the internet.

Here is the download link:

Do you think it represents Linus well? From what I've seen, Linus is a tough minded guy. He's not afraid to say something, if there's something to be said.

Gaah. I don't tend to bother about slashdot, because quite frankly, the
whole _point_ of slashdot is to have this big public wanking session with
people getting together and making their own "insightful" comment on any
random topic, whether they know anything about it or not.
He's a cool guy.

To make this, I used Rosegarden4, timidity, and LAME. I would like to give a big thank you to the people who created those programs.
(Sorry if this seems like advertising cluttering up the forum.)

great game (Score:5, Funny)

great!, now all we need is some game in the style of those old fashioned gameboy/NES/sega games, you know, the ones with 8-bit graphics and 8-bit sound, guess who the hero would be, we already have his song!

but really tho, its pretty good, as long as you wanted it to sound like old-ish computer music, nice and catchy those old tunes where ... i miss em already!

Thanks!
I was just putting down whatever little tunes came into my head. I do listen to music from those games a lot, so I guess my musical style has been influenced by them a bit.

I am dead certain Linus would love to hear that theme music, and probably will.
Someone who knows how to make those flash cartoons absolutely must incorporate your mp3 into something like this but with Linus kicking the mugs of Steve Ballmer and Darl McBride, etc. instead of poodles, zombies and old people.. Damn that'd be hilarious.. If I was Linus, something like that would inspire another year of kernel development.
