How to search "file:///" in internet search engines?


Hi,

when i type "file:///" in Google or Ask, I get results as i search for "file".

Any way to get results just for "file:///"??

Maybe there's a different term that would get what you want. What are you trying to find information about?

From the Google's guide:

There is no way to include punctuation in a search term. Google simply consider them as blank spaces. You have to find some other term to perform your query, as pljvaldez suggested above.

Protocol file:/// represents the files stored on your machine. Fortunately Google is unable to penetrate your hard disks. To find files stored on your hard disk and to search through the content of the text files use commands such as find or grep.

Have you tried quotation marks, like "file:///" ?
