How to move a driver from Windows ME to 98?

So I'm diggin round' my old computers and one of them hates me.

I love Win98 but it doesn't know the hardware, I hate ME but it has the drivers. I need to comb a driver from ME and get it to 98. I would just download the driver but the computer is so goddang old that I couldn't track down even the hardware anymore, not to mention its an onboard audio jack so Everest can't tell me what exaztally it is (some old Intel SoundMax, if there's an Easyer generic).

In short, is it possible to get a driver from ME onto 98 and how do I do it,

Just copy and paste -that's what had to be done anyway sometimes to get the drivers in.

Ok, it's been so long, how do I find where the driver actually is? And what support files are needed?

@John
I'm too stupid to do that, ntm Win98 is technically 32bit and can use the WDM drivers.

Probably not, sorry to say.

I have two old PCI hardware devices that are still functioning and being use today because of linux. Driver support for those devices stop at windows XP.

I wish you luck.

It's ok, I went through several large boxes in my garage (o_o so many dead spiders) and dug out a 5.25 drive and in the prowess found the driver disk. Turned out it was a RelTek one.

me too old pc's. It is cheap and you can give those pre-installed to poor people. (over organization).

If Qemu, it works better to install with win 95 rather than win 98.
MS office 97 works fine over qemu, and you will avoid few troubles with ms office 2000.

So, about ME, it is indeed not great sometimes. I have also a soundmax, but I remember (if well) that I ran it in windows 95. You have also the mpu-401? This one shall be also installed (considered) during install.
