How to easily manage several audio players?
 

Is there some way to easily control the flow of audio to and from various devices?

I have several audio playing devices that each handle different mediums (ex. cassette, phonograph record, CD). The audio from these devices can either be sent to my speaker system or to my headset. The stereo and headset can only accept audio from one device at a time as there is only room to plug in one cord at a time. Similarly, each audio playing device can send audio to either the stereo or the headset, but both cords cannot be plugged in at the same time. In other words, anytime I want to play from a different medium, I have to do a lot of rearranging of cords.

Now, if I had some form of switch, I could plug in all of the devices to it. Then I could select which audio player to play from and whether this audio should be sent to the stereo or the headset, without having to mess with a tangle of cords every time I change to a different device.

Has encountered a product that can solve this problem?

There are all sorts of a/b and multi-switching devices and such out there, from simple one-button switch boxes to remote-controlled wonders. There are also usb and other computer-related switchers. It all depends on how things plug in and how much you're willing to spend. Some of these devices can get pretty expensive.
