how to deal with computer-related vision problems?

I'm a computer professional... my business is computer support and programming, so I spend most of my day on the computer. Unfortunately my eyes really bother me while I'm looking at a display. I have trouble focusing on the screen and looking at the bright light on the monitor. I've been to a couple of doctors, but haven't really gotten any great advice.

Does anyone else deal with this or similiar problems? How do you deal with it? Are there any special glasses that you can get to help?

Thanks!
Justin

Using light text on a dark backround helps a lot. Not sure what your problem is, exactly.

I've had end users that had filters in front of their screens that claimed they helped. But I'll give you the same advice that my eye doc gave me (that I'm sure yours gave you). Take a break from the monitor every now and again.

Here's some reading:

I generally have to take my glasses off when I'm looking at a PC monitor. Too much strain with them on at close distance.
