in nz we try to pronounce it as different as possible to the australians..so we say lyn-ux.
and australians pronouce lee-neex

How the people pronounce "Linux"

I personally say "lin-ex". But, hey, different strokes for different folks.

How to pronounce" Linux " correctly ?

That's a good question. You will probably get several different answers. I pronounce it like this. Lin as in Franklin. Ux as in trucks.

I don remember when i heard this " Linux " pronounce as
" lAInes " Linux developer , which one is correct ??

I'm a bit curious: how important is it to know exactly how some word is pronounced? I mean, some words like Linux are quite impossible to pronounce so that they wouldn't be recognized.

Actually, as Torvalds created Linux in the university of Helsinki, the word ought to be pronounced as it is pronounced in finnish, that is, as it's written (which might be difficult to non-finnish persons to do). But anyway, just like it's in the wav linked. Though I don't think anybody can mess it if it's said in a bit different way, it's so generally well-known word these days..

I think you guys have too much spare time and too little things to do if you can just wonder how something is pronounced, especially if you've used the word for long already
