I wish linux would have a native snapshot feature in the kernel. Snapshots are cool because you can go back in time if an update or an install messed up something. I am using arch linux as a host and a guest in a VM. Before I do a system update/upgrade on my host machine, I do it first in the VM. If something went wrong during the upgrade in the VM, I just rolled back a snapshot. Snapshots has saved me from doing reinstalls of arch.

For sure not all USB sticks are created equal. Some of them you just drop to break.

In the future I will buy one the durable ones and use it as an extreme emergency backup in case my house burns down or there is a flood or a meteor storm, etc.
