How many virtual terminals do you use?

I was just wondering how many of the virtual terminals (CTRL+ALT+F1-F7) people use on average.

I have only four in my main box. In specialized boxes as MythTV frontends I reduce it to two.

I use 4 most of the time I'm at the command line
2 always have man pages on them
1 for midnight commander ( the lazy man's command line )
1 for what I'm doing

Same here... Unless, maybe, if the system is broken and I need multiple terminals to do different things.

I boot into graphical environments as I use my machines as PCs rather than servers so I mostly open terminal windows in XFCE and leave the default number of VTs (6 not counting the one X is loaded from).
The only time I use the VTs is when I've broken X in some way.

I usually use two or three.

About an hour after I started this poll, I discovered screen and realized that its use makes this question almost completely irrelevant.

I do like screen and wish I knew of it a few years ago when I used to SSH into my home server and nohup everything.
