Lightbulbs use electricity, which is not free. The FSF recommend using GNUcandles, made from GNUwax and GNUstring.

You can generate your own electricity with solar and wind. Then it would be (almost) free as in beer after building the setup and free as in liberty since you own and control
the power generating apparatus.
