I Have my second round of interview tomorrow. Please help me in the following questions.
1. How many clients do you think one NIS server can handle at one time, and how do you get over this limitation?
2. How do you find out which publicly accessible maps are served by that server.
3. What is a netgroups, and how many types of netgroups you can have?
4. What is the significance of a “+” sign in the password file? Which other files it affects?
5. How to access windows files and dir from Linux machine (ex: in case of dual boot)?
6. How to disable root loging from FTP?
7. How to install Java on Linux?
8. What is ( - - ) in the ( - - force ) option of the “rpm” command?
9. How to see, what all ports (no’s) that are being used or are available in our Linux network?
10. What must be done to disallow Telnet to our machine (other than firewalls)?
Troubleshooting:
11. How do you enable debugging, or what debugging facilities are available:
a. in network services
b. while compiling code
c. in kernel subsystems
12. What tools do you have available to you to troubleshoot the following:
a. NFS problems
b. NIS problems
c. Network slowness
d. Disk problems
e. Memory problems
f. Installation problems
