How do you print an ascii text file through the parallel port?

Hi: I mean, by using a linux comand. I know there is a device named lpt or lpr. Maybe with 'cat filename > /dev/lpt.

Note: I can find neither /dev/lpt nor /dev/lpr!

I had the parallel port disabled in the BIOS! I can't believe it.

Note: I was writing a program that transmits a file through the parallel port and it worked until yesterday. Somebody must have changed the BIOS settings.
