How Do I insert a link to other LQ forum+posting into the current posting
So here I am writing this posting into LQ. It might be a new thread or a reply or comment to an existing thread. After adding my tuppence, I want to insert a link from the current posting to some other LQ forum and thread.

For example, items in the Laptop forum discuss solutions that are ubuntu specific. When I respond to an item in the Distribution->Ubuntu forum, I want to cross-link to the item in Laptops.
I copy the link and, because I have javascript disabled, I type [ url="" ], paste the link between the quotes, and type the link text and [ /url ] - without the spaces. With javascript, I think you can just click the link thing.
-- Oh, if you mean where do you get the link from, if what's in your address bar doesn't reflect what you want, you can grab the URL from the post number in the upper right of each post.

Yes, and this too. By the way, until you mentioned it, I did not even notice that the posting number was "underlined blue" meaning a live link. Small-ish font. Old-ish eyes. In a hurry.
