hosting company recommendations

Hi,

Which (ideally UK-based) hosting company would you recommend? I have been reading some reviews but it's hard to distinguish good stuff from sponsored articles/reviews.

I help a few of my friends with their websites. They have been using one (quite cheap) hosting company but are not really happy. Recently they lost some emails and there were other reasons.

Can any one recommend some hosting company (reliable, good customer service, etc)? An additional bonus would be a Django-friendly hosting company (that might come in handy in the future).

Thanks in advance.

Singlehop. They do it right, its not as cheap but you get waht you pay for. They use top-notch datacenters, I've been in them and can vouch for that. They also have a very knowledgable staff, do some research on them I'm sure you'll like them

Thanks a lot. My friends' websites are targeted at UK audience so I'd rather keep it hosted in datacentres based in the UK.

I thought that singlehop had UK offerings? I was pretty sure they did, if not that is my mistake.

I dont know wether you've found a hosting company yet, but Im with WHUK and they are very good:

Great support too. The support is the reason Im keen to recommend them. Not sure on the Django though, but they are UK based and very good.
