I'll bite: What is "genuine"? Is is a program?

Whatever it is, why do you need to remove it?

stress_junkie 07-02-2008 09:37 AM

Do you mean Windows Genuine Advantage? You should use the correct name for things if you want to be understood. I doubt that anyone here knows how to remove Windows Genuine Advantage. Asking questions about Windows here is like asking Motorola for technical information about Nokia products.

Au contraire....
One of the purposes of "general" is questions on Windows.

Of course, you could also try:

Delete WGA? Simple: Install Linux.

Slight side effects includes removing Windows altogether and increased productivity.

On a more serious note you can just google on how to disable it, but AFAIK if you remove and visit the windows update site it will probably get re-installed.

The answer can be easily found with Google.

I think genuine is the middle name of the spambot that started this thread.

I believe it was many years ago--perhaps even at the beginning. I think I also heard that Jeremy doesn't discuss it. (Maybe whois has the original creation date??)

Bingo!!
