help connecting to passworded asp page that list my mp3s

My XP box runs IIS 5.1 and a program called andromedia which is a asp script that places all my mp3s into a web page that I can access via the net and stream audio.

From a windows box I type in the url and then I get a password box where I login and then the page loads.

I just installed Redhat 9 and when using mozilla the url just bombs out and doesn't prompt me for username and password?

I get the following error

HTTP 401.2 - Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration
Internet Information Services

Technical Information (for support personnel)

* Background:
This is usually caused by a server-side script not sending the proper WWW-Authenticate header field. Using Active Server Pages scripting this is done by using the AddHeader method of the Response object to request that the client use a certain authentication method to access the resource.

* More information:
Microsoft Support

I know this is really a windows problem but I'm hoping someone knows what the proper www-Authenticate header field for linux is?

Moving to the General forum where non-linux specific questions go

Have you tried other linux browsers, konqueror, dillo, opera?

Cool

I tried opera and same problem. I'm using windows authentication on the IIS server and that is problem. I need to use some other form of passwording the server. diget, something else.

Thanks for the suggestions.

WRT windoze auth, you can force Opera to disguise itself as IE, might that solve the issue?

Cool

I have had a similar problem when accessing other sites that require you to log into the site. I think it is because they are using a 'standard' only Internet Explorer understands. Well thats what Opera says. You could try making a loggin page where you enter the loggin details into a secure webpage, like the way this site and many other forums work.
