Have you used a free Terminal Emulator for Windows?
Hello, What is a good and free terminal emulator for use with Windows? I love Minicom on Linux CentOS and have used HyperTerminal years ago on Windows XP. Now that I need something free for Windows again, I am looking for something like Hyperterminal, but very free. Please post any suggestions. Thank you!

Have you looked at puTTY?
Link here: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ If you mainly want to ssh or telnet into other boxes. This tool is great. PS.: It also has a Symbian port: http://s2putty.sourceforge.net/ which I use to check my boxes when I'm around. Nifty. :) |

puTTY! and I also use WinSCP if you want to transfer files to/from windows/linux

Cygwin.

Very nice. Thanks for the input, I will try them out. Will they all work with XP? I will not be using Vista for my router configs. Oh yes I forgot to mention I will be teaching myself how to do router configurations on cisco IOS, that is why I need free terminal emulation software.

AFAIK Hyperterminal is still very free with XP (but not Vista) :)
As stated PuTTY would also be a good choice. |
...puTTY, Cygwin, AFAIK, WinSCP. If there are any others, post them because I am still compiling names to see what works for me. I probably won't give them a try until next weekend. I'll follow up with some feedback. Thanks for the help everyone.
