It seems every other introduction thread starts with "I'm posting this so I can post a link" or "Hi I'm new to Linux" and that's about the extent of the post. I wish they would at least put the location in their profile and make it interesting with a few facts about themselves like "90% of my work I do with my left hand" or "I can scratch my ear with my elbow" or something to make the post interesting. At the end they could be honest and say "I'm really joining because this linux is giving me a lot of trouble" or "I heard about Linux Questions and want to try and help".
SlowCoder and David1357 you have the right idea except SlowCoder put your location in your profile so we will know which slang or key words to use with your replies.
