Has anybody got a Sony DCR-SR32E camcorder?
 

I've got one of those, and I'm trying to compress the videos using MPEG-4 codecs like xvid.
I have tried using avidemux to encode a 36 MB video (less the 2 minutes long) with xvid (single pass, bitrate = 1000), but the resulting file size is 14 MB, which does not seem a good result for a 1-minute-and-something video.
I don't know if it depends on the type of data created by the camera (which seems to be MPEG-2) or on the configuration of the codec?
If anyone has got the same camcorder and has succesfully converted the videos to mpeg-4, please let me know how to do it!
