"Hackers 95" and "Hackers 98" on VHS

The independent documentaries Hackers 95 and Hackers 98 were initially released on VHS, as shown here, but now it seems to be almost impossible to track down original VHS copies. Would anyone here happen to have one or both films on VHS? If so, would there be any chance that I could get VHS copies?

Regards,

R3nCi :)

You could copy that to a VHS if you can borrow some equipment from the Smithsonian :p otherwise that's probably your best option unless you absolutely need it on VHS.

Good afternoon, kustom -

I do have the required equipment to transfer digital material to VHS; however, that copy was poorly encoded and is very pixellated.

The reason I am looking for a physical VHS copy is that there will be no digital artifacts. Static and other tape-defects do not bother me in the slightest, but video-artifacting/pixellation does inhibit my ability to enjoy a film.

I found an mp4 of Hackers 95 on thesprawl.org; I plan to look at its resolution, and if it is sufficient I can burn it to a DVD and transfer that DVD to VHS as a last resort. However, the best-case scenario would be to find an original tape; I'm continuing in that quest for a while longer.

As a side-note, it seems that Hackers 98 is not available for streaming or download anywhere on the internet. Interesting...
