Good registry cleaner?

What the title says... there are tons of them out there but I'm not sure how safe they are.

I've looked in the registry before and when ever you install something and then uninstall it, it leaves all these extra folders behind.

I'd like all that crap gone.

So what do you use on you windows computer (if you have a cleaner) or which one would you recommend?

Registry cleaners can be pretty risky. Always use one that has a backup feature.

I use CCleaner. Minor cleaning with backup. Never had a problem with it and it is a freebie.

The one I use and have had good luck with is CCleaner (the first C = crap).

Regcleaner. Never had a problem with it and it has a backup feature. And it is free.

I just manually delete suspect keys.

Tune-Up Utilities has a good one in it.
Registry Mechanic is a good one, but pay attention to what it finds.
