to whoever started this thread, I've just gotta say, thanks! I stumbled on it by accident while looking for answers to my sound issues (yeah I know, bad search criteria!) Anyways the thread made me laugh! Seriously, I really needed a break from all this boring studying, and reading all your (sometimes hilarious) comments was just the thing I needed. So thanks!
and just a couple comments....not all girls are in it for the money...my bf is practically broke and I love him anyway
and another thing...you aren't expected to "understand girls" cause honestly, does anyone even truely understand themselves all the time? I dont, so why should I expect someone else to?
have a great day
Sarah
ps and I love linux, even if I cant listen to the iceberg without doing 5 hours of troubleshooting!

Cool, nice to hear a girls point of view. I was the one to start the thread b.t.w.
WindowsBurner, I don't think any guy here looks at women as sex objects. Absolutely not. I was just trying to start an fun thread and didn't mean offense to any one. Possibly get people to share some experiences.
WindowsBurner man, I'm jealous at you. B.t.w, I always take people seriously regardless of sex and age.

Ok .. I'm sorry guys.. just the way you were talking didn't sound very nice.
I guess I should lighten up a bit.. no?

Well you may be jealous schatoor but it isn't that easy. Most of my time is spent working on our big farm.. so yes I have lots of girls falling for me but... hanging out with them is sometimes impossible... but oh well... when I get to its that much more rewarding.

There is nothing like hanging out with some girl you like after working hard all friggin day.

I don't know why I even bother trying to educate you guys.... If you want to go through life thinking of women like that... then fine. You go get yourself a bed warmer( you'll probably end up with a hooker) and I'll treat them like people and I'll have a good life and your guys's life can go t*** up for all I care.

I shouldn't even have bothered posting in the first place.... one of my girlfreinds read the entire thread... got so pissed off she wanted to shoot just about everyone who posted. And told me I was correct in what I said... so frankly I don't give a da** what you guys think.

Nova Soctia,
Beautiful province. My wife and kids head out to Halifax every summer, followed by a trip up to Cape Breton.

As for women, don't bother trying to understand em, just treat them right, and they'll be there.

I agree mossie.. Nova Scotia is beautiful( no wonder I live here ).. as for treating the women right .. i couldnt agree better... understanding them is like .... trying to understand why flowers look and smell the way they do... you don't need to understand them to enjoy them.

Haha, steady My wife doesn't mind being referred to as a bed warmer... the women that you go for do actually have a sence of humor dont they? Or are they the plastic kind that dont talk much

Tell her to read the "howto get chicks into linux" thing, then she'll be really ready for a murderous rampage

No the girls I go for have a nice sense of humor but they don't take kindly to being called bed warmers. If I were to call them that... most of the time I'd either be slapped or she would get mad and wouldn't let me talk to or touch her for at least half an hour.
But sometimes they don't mind those jokes.

If I showed her the "howto get chick in linux" thing she would find you and kill you.
When she gets mad... oh boy can she get mad.

Anyway everyone has their way of talking to girls and I have mine.

lol.... You want to hear a funny story?

One time like a year or two ago I was Kedge( huge camp park ) and I walked up to this really gorgeous chick and before I got a chance to speak she asked "Are you a guy or a girl?" man was I pissed( I kept my temper underwraps though) her reasoning was that my shorts had pink on them and she wasn't sure.. but I tell you .... I would be one ugly girl.
I was wearing : A bandana with the grim reaper on it and piles of skulls and bones surrounding him.A sleeve less shirt that was ripped around where the sleeves should have been.A pair of shorts with some black and some pink. Now that was when I like the color pink. But there was no way to mistake me for a girl... My moustache was clearly visible my arms and legs were at least twice as big around as hers and I was a good 4 inches taller... my legs and arms were really hairy too.
So I don't know how she thought I was a girl.. but I sure got a good laugh out of that...( after I calmed down a bit..)

WB there is really no reason for people to get upset over those stereo type jokes, trust me I've seen many of these kinda jokes directed at men I just laugh and keep reading. People who get upset about these things are usually insecure about who they are or are overly worried about what people think.

and as for the bed warmer my wife calls me that lol.

If a the girls that you talk to, WB, freak out at being called a 'bed warmer' you either need to make it more evident that you're joking or they need to loosen up. Heck, writing silly man pages is fun! Just the other day, I wrote a man page on a good friend of mine for a laugh.

It's also about what kind of woman you'd want to attract. If you want one who finds humor in "man girl" or "howto get chicks into linux" you just gotta joke with them and the ones who don't find it funny you probably don't want to date anyway.

Anywhoo, like has already been said, you can't "understand" women. I sure as heck don't even understand myself.

The biggest thing in intersexual relations of the human race is probably that females got the right to slash out at males all the time for anything they don't like (eg being called a bed warmer) but succeed in hiding how they talk about males behind their backs.Even better - when they do jokes about men that a guy would be hung by the $%'s for by a mob of feminists we (guys) still don't bother.
I think all that women being 'like a flower' and like 'poor little babies that need to be cuddled' stuff is bull.
A woman that you need to kiss up to constantly is not something you want to keep around - if she can't figure out how to open a car door I don't have any use for her.
