Getting the youtube video URL at current time.


When watching a youtube video, if you point to the lower bar and right click, you get a menu. One of the options is "Get video URL at current time". I chose it and, then, a little box appeared in the middle of the screen showing the URL. All right. Now I cut and paste the URL and give it to youtube-dl. After it finishes I play it with mplayer but, unfortunately, it begins playing from the very start. Anything wrong with the web browser, perhaps?

This link may be outdated, but it seems like a limitation within youtube-dl.

Thanks odiseo77. Well, anything that comes into the machine the machine can capture it. At the time of those posts the youtube function I spoke of (GUI) was not implemented, as is plain from the fact the person who replied the OP was a developer.

Anyway, is ffmpeg some program current in Linux distributions?

what is wrong with cutting it to where you want it? video editing I think it is called.

there is one out there is is exceptionally fast but tends to crash a lot too at times. research mode: ..... Done.
