Get the infamous TUX icon to appear next to a webpage

Hello! I am wondering how one would get any icon (preferably tux) to appear next to their webpage. An example is:
There's a huge red "R" next to this website: www.gixxer.com
And at the kernel.org there is a pic of tux, and so on. Where in the code would you put something like this? And can you do it using simple HTML or would I have to learn something like PHP or more?

Thanks

Cool

It's not only on the gixxer page, but also on www.kernel.org www.freshmeat.net

It's next to the address bar. In a default Galeon theme, pages that don't have it look like a planet with an arrow pointing on it. In IE, it's the E imposed onto a white background. The gixxer page was just one example.

Thanks for the reply though, and I'm not saying it's not flash, I just wouldn't think that kernel.org and freshmeat.net would use flash...

Cool

I found it, I looked at the page sources and at the top there is this:
Code:
<link REL="icon" HREF="http://www.kernel.org/images/tux16-16.png" TYPE="image/png">
And tried it out on my site, and it works

Cool

I was wondering the same thing the other day, but never bothered to research it. Thanks for the answer!
There are icons on LQ as well, on the front page, it's a penguin. Also on sourceforge (a orange ball) freshmeat, kernel.org, and many, many others. And i just noticed them few days ago when i switched to mozilla, in Opera that i used before the icons don't appear.

Hey Acid just for the note, i re-installed acidrip on a fresh slack 8.1 install. Gtk-perl is needed, as well as libdvdread and libdvdcss and of course lsdvd, and i think thats all.
Thanks for acidrip again!
