Well, let's turn it back around. On the original topic, I've been wondering about that, too. I drop into the Gentoo web site every so often and look at the monthly newsletters. I'm not a developer, but I do look around at a lot. I've often wondered, "why publish who's coming and who's going and for that matter, why is there so much turnover?" Is this because of an excess of individuality or a lack of team spirit (so to speak) or what?

Unit integrity is important, whether the term is used in the military or on the playground during tug-of-war, and I have to ponder - is this the root of the problems? Is there a lack of UI there and it's starting to fray?

Or, is there a lack of sufficient leadership, goals, and direction?

Or, do people sit in little cubicles playing Tetris all day?

I don't know - I can only make observations and compare data.
