Flashplayer issue on Debian Stable Iceweasel browser
I have Debian Stable with iceweasel installed and it is otherwise working well. It is also updated regularly. However, when I load following page, I get an error message that "A plugin is needed to display this content".
http://www.cartoonnetwork.co.uk/show...th-of-the-jedi Above this part of page is 'Adobe shockwave player' logo. I downloaded and installed libflashplayer.so from its website to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins folder, but still the page does not load properly. The plugin page shows that shockwave flash 11.2.202.438 is installed and active in this browser. This page http://isflashinstalled.com/ also shows that adobe flash is installed. https://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ page shows that plugin is needed. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ shows that flash player is uptodate. http://www.itma.vt.edu/tech/shockwave.htm shows that flash player is working but shockwave movie is not. I can see youtube.com videos without any problem. Why is there this problem and how can this be solved? Thanks for your help. |
As far as I understand, shockwave player is not the same as flash player. It looks like there is no shockwave player for linux at the moment, and probably won't ever be.

I installed gnash and browser-plugin-gnash from Debian Repository. However, it is not showing up on the plugins page of iceweasel browser nor are the pages loading properly.
