Firefox quiting when clicking on a link?

I was browsing around and clicked on a link here on LQ (I dont remeber the link) and firefox just completely quite, I restarted it and was on another site and clicked a link and the same deal, what gives? This has happened with Opera before on another system but never with firefox. What would cause that?

I had this in old versions of firefox as well. Do you have it completely upgraded or not?

Yup!

I stopped using opera cuz it would do the same thing, but all the time. Image browsing around and you click on a link and the browser shuts down, It was so darn frustrating.

I encountered that as well. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...77#post1339777
I got it sorted out fixing java installation, was not a problem with browser, never reinstalled browser. It is all happy now.

And once you get your java plugin sorted, if you have not tried this, it really sped up my Firefox on cable connection.

Thanks for the links. Yea in Opera it had something to do with Java and I eventually fixed it but with firefox I didnt install java at all, Thats probably the problem. Thanks again.
