Finally!! I've been waiting since december 2008 for this beta. I can't wait to test the new TraceMonkey and all new features. It's so much faster, it's definitely the best browser out there and there's no way you can disagree with me on this one unless you like Opera or Konqueror better than Firefox. I mean c'mon how can you like anything better than Firefox

There is a lot I like about firefox, but speed isn't one of those things. Sometimes on my system scrolling takes a looong time. Something to do with how FF handles backdrop images, I think. Hopefully that is fixed in the new release.

Have they fixed problem when firefox stops responding to any input for 10 seconds while you type something at address bar (probably performs search/query of thing to suggest at that time)?

The browser gets a little slow but i don't see it as a bug..

Well, when it gets slow it isn't. But when it stops responding to keyboard input (when you type word in the address bar, it might completely freeze at the letter in the middle for several seconds - without accepting input, without displaying the rest of the letters you entered (they will appear when browser "unfreeze"), and without responding to anything) - then it is a bug.

FF sucks - sorry can't put it better.

FF2 was a memory hog and FF3 went all better except now my box hangs for secounds at times while loading a webpage (and no CPU is NOT at 100%).
To make things even better it's like that on all OS's I use currently (Debian,Gentoo and winXP).

Was great when it first came out to replace the bloated mozilla site - now it seems the formerly bloated mozilla site being called seamonkey now is leaner....

Looks like evrytime they fix one thing they screw up something else.

Never been a fan of Firefox myself either. The only reason I use it, is because of the webdev plugins. But that is at work only. At home, if I am using Windows, I go with Google chrome. If in Linux, SeaMonkey or Opera.

Compared to all new, innovative browsers available, like Safari 4 and Google Chrome, Firefox feels the most dated. Not only for providing too basic features out of the box (without addons), but it became also bloated and slow. The huge amount of addons are both a good and a bad thing too. The good thing is, it adds some much necessary functionality which should be integrated with the browser. The bad is, it increase bloat, increasing startup time and individual updates for every plugin + browser restart every time because of that is annoying. It still even requires a restart when adding new themes. Opera, for example, has fixed that beautifully. Even addons in Opera does not require a restart. In fact, you can try them on the fly before even installing them.

And to sum up, very little was done with the overall UI for years, or fixed common complains such as the restarting the browser for everything. With all that in mind, I still don't think Firefox sucks. However, it reached the point where I don't care about it anymore and just use it "If I have too", like Windows...

I don't experience the problems you guys are having, with the freezing and slow performance. But I don't know what types of systems you guys are using, either. My systems range from Pentium 4/1G with 384MB RAM to 3G with 2G RAM.

But if you are running beta versions, you can expect some amount of flaw in just about any software.
