You can't run it, you have to decode base64 to a binary. .com like other dos based programs are binaries not text.

I encourage anyone to not start random downloaded programs until the author explicitly describes his/her program, the purpose of it and what it exactly does. Just a "here is this program I wrote, run it" should sound the alarm for anyone loudly.

Program is a fire demo.

Nothing dangerous.

I would never upload ANY harmful program.

That is exactly what anyone loading up a harmful program would say. I am not accusing you of that, by the way, but we take security serious here, so please be more verbose with your program description and maybe include a link to the source.

no

the program "aafire" should be installed as part of aalib

and "cmatrix" is another one of the FUN TOYS for the terminal
http://www.asty.org/cmatrix/

along with "cow-say"( and the many variants) and "fortune"
or VI's sarcastic "Clippy" helper
and if using gnome2 " FREE THE FISH "

---------- edit -----------

i am in agreement with "TobiSGD" on his post

while i do not think YOU did anything wrong

OTHERS HAVE ( bad apples have ruined it for others)

normally it is a good idea to post a link to the source code
or a site
or the git page
or a forum discussion on it

i normally do not where a "tin foil hat" i am none the less a bit paranoid ( the GOOD type of a bit cautious )

Com files are dos programs and only run in Linux on a DOS emulator. (unless you have Windows)

If someone requests the assembly source, I will be glad to post it.

But they will only be able to compile it with Windows or a dos based O.S.

I did not need any of these to run it on Puppy Slacko.
