Doesn't it give its workers a free (or something like that) version of its products?
Or at least Special Discount Coupons?

I guess they probably use whatever they are currently running at this moment.

ex-Microsoft

I believe they will publicly stay with old faithful
but will end up being closet Linux users, for the fear there friends might reject them for crossing over the greener pasture.

I've also seen ms employees working with macbooks! What does this mean?

But it's not surprising, who wants to work with an operating system that has its doors wide open for NSA?

From what I've heard about Microsoft, they scrutinize the heck out of their employees, but on the other hand, provide EVERYTHING the employees need to complete their jobs. And they make it fun, too.

But after an employee leaves/is removed, I doubt MS makes itself responsible for maintaining those people's computers and software.

I for one, am definitely a converted Linux user. I much prefer Linux over Windows. But my shop is a Windows shop. Therefore while I am there, I work in Windows except for my own desktop.

I would guess that ex-employees have a favorite operating system also, and would be glad to use that OS of choice as soon as they leave MS, whether that is to use Linux, OSx or continue with Windows.
