Hey there. I am trying to configure my /etc/fstab file but I have no idea what to put for windows information. All the other partitions are taken care of...except I don't know what to put for <MOUNT POINT>, <TYPE>,<OPTS>, and <DUMP/PASS> for the windows line. This partition is /dev/hda2, as FDISK reports. Thanks for any help!
you need to add your windows information to grub. adding it to fstab will only mount it when you boot gentoo so you can read it from linux, as you surmised. i wasn't sure what you were asking, so i thought i'd start with that.
i use lilo, but i think the lines to add to grub are as easy as:
title=Windows
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
where hd0 is your first master IDE drive and 0 is the first partition (change the values accordingly). or search google for other examples.

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I'm off to write a Gentoo boot loader...oh boy, wish me luck
