Excuse me, are you calling me stupid? I take offense to your post. I don't use Google Chrome Beta because it runs very buggy on my system. It's slower than FF, and the GNOME integration still has to be worked out with certain icons and things rendering correctly. Especially driving me nuts is the lack of scroll arrows on the scrollbar.
Ubuntu theoretically is not supporting the balkanization of Linux, since it still uses the GNU/Linux kernel. Canonical offers in it's large repositories, options for nearly all types of programs, including but not limited to, KDE, GNOME, Xfce, e* and the CLI for bash and ssh. To me that is still a Linux distribution in principal.
As for the, ahem, "lamers" (What is that?), I only use them for school (Adobe and MS [required], I'm coherent enough to use OOo and GIMP), and because I have had a difficult time getting Pokerstars (the only game I liked on Windows, and the only game I can play on a graphics card this limited) running under WINE.

Excuse me, are you calling me stupid? I take offense to your post.
Nope, I didn't call You that.
I called You "lame".
in plain English:
"dude" it is rude and blatantly ignorant to ask for porting a project to whatever OS when said project is long due being ported - moreover it is in late phase of development (aka "Beta") where all major issues are being fixed (won't be changed any more) and only minor aesthetic and bug hunt is due.
It is by far ignorant to the effort of the community being agile, and a rude expression of personal laziness and ignorance.
But "stupid" is your word;
and the "4 lammers" is what it stands for: those who can't "google out" the port by them self "smarts"
EDIT: oops had it wrong the 1st time.
I wrote nowhere You need/should use it?
But I'm glad I provoked You to think about it, we're getting somewhere now...

Why don't You chime in and contribute to the project?
Like the Linux users from the "old days"?
Ever wondered "how came Linux"?

Could You please explain what other kernel can a "Linux" use and remain "Linux"?
AFAIK there is no other Linux than the GPL kernel, and no other GPL-ed compiler then the GCC (i won't write here what GCC stands for)
teach me?

Buddy, You talking of "rebranded" Debian here, But I guess Your "smarts" figured that already?
And I used the term "lame" not "lamers", there is a difference, don't You find?
"lame" = "anti cool"

I guess You are then in the wrong (non Unix) school?

Shall we show scars here?
Ever tried to make a satelite DVB proxy on Astra-19.2 with SkyStar2?
Back in 2005? Even OEM where clueless re:Linux then, and I was just a newbie...
My friends know *my* scars
Best regards,

Reason: need a better keyboard (typo) and EDIT^ above (oops)
Your grammar indicates the only school you went to was a Unix school. Also might I recommend using proper sentence structure and punctuation, it makes your posts so much easier to read. At least, try to.

Exactly my point. What was the point of that? Look up the definitions of words before replying, if you don't know what they mean (which you clearly don't).

I thing you meant "can," instead of, "can't," otherwise that sentence wouldn't make sense. Also, try not using slang so much, like "lamers". Two other mistakes: "4 lammers," should be "4 lamers," and you should of used 'smart' not "smarts." (Unless you were using the slang 'smarts', then you would have to change your sentence structure entirely, as that wouldn't make sense) Also, it would be "themselves," not "them self," since you are talking about all people in general. So, here's a revised version of your sentence: "But stupid is your word.
The 4 "lamers" symbolize that; those who can "Google out" the port themselves are smart."
OK, after correcting all those aforementioned errors I can begin to see what you are saying, unless you failed miserably at forming your argument.
My response to is:
(The following was the result of many Google searches)
I tried using WINE v.1.1.15 with the patch, the "commit" reverted, and a few winetricks, (see appdb for what I'm talking about) for Adobe CS4 listed on their website, and after it installed, I did not find it to work all that well, especially the fact I could barely use Photoshop at all.
MS Office will run on WINE v.1.1.14 (with some winetricks and configuration), but Access and Groove will not work.

I'm sorry I don't live up to your standard of cool.

You contradicted yourself.

Yes, Debian alone is a "GNUniverse" of software
Good, you agree with me.

Scars = slang, in that usage. Use something more more beneficial to your point.
No. What is the need? I was proving a point on another subject, I'm sorry you saw that as a challenge to your skills.

COD4 MW2! Umm, all the new DX10 games because I've got an 8800GT and should use it's features? lol Umm I don't really know, I use my windows for games really. And lately that's all I've been doing, games and work trying to save money so I can change the pattern of games/work. lol

Since English is not my native language, I can consider this as an compliment.
Thank You
Can You write meaningful sentences in my native language? Not that I demand it from You.

I bet You would like to edit out my entire post to suit Your taste?
Wouldn't You
But I din't write that, din't I? I wrote who can't "Google out"
And You didn't notice i used "googling" which is also "slang", don't You find?

Sometimes it can be a bitch to install a program if it keeps on needing other files installed
I discovered that if you run aptitude search (program name), then use sudo apt-get install (program name), usually all the dependencies get taken care of. You might find you need to first run sudo apt-get update first to get the repository up to date.
It's when I've been trying to assemble an application from source that I discover all the dependency issues you mentioned. I agree it can be a real, well, I'll keep the language clean, difficulty, when doing that. But if you just want an application installed sudo apt-get install usually does the trick.
For reference, this netbook came pre-installed with XP and I've never booted the XP partition. I do have XP on another machine that I use for work purposes, and that machine is a dual boot.
I like not having to babysit the anti-virus updates and answering the firewall every five minutes when it asks mother may I. Perhaps I don't have the best firewall for a Windows machine, but I can tell you I don't have WGA on it, and it's never shut down because the WGA server is not available.
