Don't make a typo

I had the 'pleasure' of mistyping www.linuxquestions.org as www.linuxquestion.org (missing the final s). Seems that this typo is rewarded with an amount of pop-ups I've never seen! So, bookmarks are good ;)

How strange. That was the exact mistake I committed for the first time today! :o

(PS I have this site bookmarked on my machine, but I was trying to load it from my brother's laptop)

The site doesn't seem to have popups though it's a domain squatter with the usual "directory" links.

What sort of Web site is this?

I tend to keep pop-up blocker OFF because the risk of missing some important information displayed in a pop-up outweighs the burden of having to close the occassional pop-up. I just don't get how can a Web designer be smart enough to know that people use pop-up blockers in their browser, yet dumb enough to actually use pop-ups as part of their design. I keep going to important sites that say "you must disable pop-up blocker to view this site properly." Thanks a lot Mr. Web designer. They are usually the same developers that make stupid sites that lose all of your form data when you use the BACK button when you filling out field #327 on page 10/22. Then they use JavaScript for all of their links so you can't open them in new Tabs. Is this some sort of security measure?

Oh the joy of firefox.

It tried to open pop-ups... But firefox said "nuh-uh."

I did not only bookmark
linuxquestions.org
, I put it as my opening page into Firfox. That way, as soon as I start Firefox, I am in front of this forum. Like that, I can look into this forum often for different things.
