Do you know a good CMS ?

Hello,

I'm planning to create a simple website with my favorite links and websites. I would like it to be quite flexible and to be able to become a bigger project if ever I feel like it. (adding user's rights, a forum, polls, etc...)

First I wanted to program it myself in php, but then I decided to go for an easier solution, a CMS. I've had a look at the wikipedia and a search in google but there are a lot of CMS and I don't know which one I should choose.

I have used PHP-Nuke before and I've never been so happy about it.
Moreover, I don't have a server which means I cannot have a root access, and so I cannot install CMS like WebGUI.

I would really apreciate to get any advice, or any feedback from other CMS.

Thanks a lot !

Checkout the following links:

http://www.opensourcecms.com/
http://www.cmsmatrix.org/

opensourcecms.com has demos of most CMSs.

The "CMS decision" is something similar to the "linux distro decision". There are so many out there, all with different pros and cons. Trial and error my friend, trial and error

Only for the moment, the Mambo dev team did the runner and started Joomla because they didn't like where the powers-that-be were heading, so now they've split Mambo will be taking whatever direction that was and Joomla will be taking whatever direction that they wanted to. Once Mambo hits v5 and Joomla hits v1.5 I think they'll be very different. I switched to Joomla while the DB schema was still compatible and the swap was very painless. The big test will be when they start to differ, which one will the hacking community in general write their mods for...
