Do you enjoy living on planet Earth?
Another earth movie and end-time videos inspires us to discuss possibility of either replacement of Earth or getting extra planet to expand our options and living space where we could also evolve further or fixing current planet to 'get rid of bugs and errors'(so to speak). Also related question to movie is what would your reaction be if in one average day in your life you would receive info about another planet like ours just next to us? Would you be happy that we would have another place to live and travel to|from or extra happy because you wanted to live there long time ago leaving this mess behind or sad because that would probably won't help fix current planet? There are a lot of discussions about negative side of this story(disasters, alien invasion, punishment of God(s) etc.) already so why not speak about positive side of this story instead?

NO
I want to be on Magrathea , but WITH my digital watch and a bunch of little green pieces of paper . |
The poll is too limited for me. Good links tho makes me think of Fringe and Portal 2 plus the fact that fiction comes from life also all things die so enjoy (sounds sadistic but that's all we get until that upload part?) ;)
:Edit. |
The Earth would be a great place, if nobody were living on it.

I saw the movie about 6 month ago. It is really unique.
One hundred "Another Earth" will be not enough to find in one of them a carefree and happy myself. So I remain on this :) |

No, but I was sent here from the planet Xzsrewxsweiurkzx 4000 earth years ago, and my tour of duty lasts another 2000 years, so I have no choice.

this world can't be better than it is right now
no rose colored glasses here this world stinks from the stink of man kind there is no evolution for man kind on the whole people will never get any better than they are there is only evolution for a few but only if they work on self evolution for these few by changing themselves become bothered less and less by the machines called people the next better place to live would be the sun good luck at pulling that one off |
To infinity and beyond!

For myself, I think that we need to stop building up big cities and instead spread out into smaller hamlets and villages. Major cities are part of the problem in our planet. In short, we need to decentralize and move back to the farm. Not that I am saying that we should all be farmers, there will still be place for factories, stores, military, and yes, even computer geeks like us. ;) |
If lucky we get to enjoy being the plague  optimistically the cure?

I truly hope that the human race never gets to screw up another planet!!
|
As a human you do mean Universe, right? :D
P.s: sorry about the microcoughed-winblows tag, at the hospital with my nephew again poor, lucky kid. |
Well, I'd prefer to be back on Zeebob, but I lost my interstellar transport ticket. Damm...
|
I can't say I enjoy it -- I ought to since I'm well fed, had a good free education and live in a relatively safe country with moderately good services.
However, I am both intellectually aware of the hate and hopelessness that fills this planet and emotionally aware of having not much in common with most people -- neither of which I believe can be solved without my removal (still leaving the main issue:-P). |
About the age of 10 or 11 I saw a sci-fi movie at the neighborhood theater that I do not remember the name of. The plot entailed aliens placing lots of satellites around our planet. The hero, a scientist, had to figure out the right code to send to the satellites within a week to stop them from wiping out the whole entire human race. At the end of the movie, in the nick of time, the scientist discovered a code. It was not the code to shut down the satellites; it was the satellite code that caused all the earth's evil people to fall down and die.
|
I finally decided to put in my vote, the only obvious choose is optimism so yes (minus the "i enjoy it as it is." should have picked "other opinion" oh well :)) But, I could see how less-lucky or younger minds may differ and some (like myself) could despise a few marketers for drinking (or locking up) the half full\empty vats of water.

People, let me tell you 'bout a place I know, to get in it don't take much dough
Where you can really do your thing It's got a neon sign outside that says Come in and take a look at your mind You'll be surprised what you might find Strobe lights flashing from sun up to sun down People gather there from all parts of town Right around the corner, you know it's just across the track People I'm talking about the psychedelic shack |
OK Shel Silverstein :D
|
I heard a girl in a dress
Say her face was a mess I heard there's no reason why I heard that now's the time to buy On planet earth I'll probably stay On planet earth It's a place to live your life Where pleasure follows pain People go insane Fly around in planes Pray that it won't rain Drive around in cars Get drunk in local bars Dream of being stars Well I lived all my life on planet earth |
I have to agree with John VV, NO, I don't.

i would love it more if the government was not an iron fist in a velvet glove, and religion started losing followers because they woke up to what a load of bullshit it was
politics is treachery religion is bullshit |
