Disable Auto-mounting of devices in .... WINDOWS?

At work I'm forced to use Windows XP.

I use my iPod here, and I was wondering if there's a way to plug in my USB devices and not have them mount automatically. As of now I have to go into My Computer and click "eject" so that the device will charge, but not be a registered device.

Thank you in advance,

/O

The easiest way to accomplish that without hacking the registries, would be by downloading and installing TweakUI:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

Once installed, there's an option to disable auto-play of both CD/DVR-Rom and removable drivers. I think this should help you, but I never tried it myself

Good luck!

Ok, I tried that and found the AutoPlay section.

However, when I unplug and plug back it, it still says "Do Not Disconnect" until I go into My Computer and hit eject.

Any other ideas?

TIA,

/O
