Cygwin ~.vmrc file location?

Hi Cygwin experts,

I am taking a chance and asking this question here. After installing Cygwin, where is the default location of the .vimrc file so I can augment it? Kind of confusing. I know on my Linux box, it is hidden in the home directory and a simple ls -la will list it. That isn't happening in Cygwin. BTW, I have to use Win7 for some things, and like many of you, Cygwin gives me peace of mind. Vim is by far my favorite text editor; even in a Windows environment. So, again where is the .vimrc file in Cygwin?

Thanks,

trox

So, the pic shows the file path to the .vimrc file I created and the settings are: http://pastebin.com/5R9a3K5N. However, when I start up vim again, none of the settings are being applied. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help.

Does it work when you put it in your home directory?

No. I have tried that too. It's weird because I don't have these problems on my Linux box. I know I should technically be able to transfer my settings globally without problems. I'm still googling different groups to see what is going wrong. It's just really inconvenient because VIM is the most accurate editing program I know and it is so powerful.
