Copying a file from Database Server??

In our w2k3 LAN, My data (an XXX file) resides in a database server (MS SQL Server 2000). i do access and work with this file from an XP workstation (Laptop). Usually i must access the server to get to this file, so the question is how do i make a copy of this file in the local station so that i can work on this XXX file with my notebook while on a trip?

You can use MS Access and import the data or you can install the developer edition of SQL Server and simply attach your existing database files.

I don't have Windows in front of me ATM, but you need to import it into something, so create an empty database first. Then I believe the menu item was called "get external data", under which you had the options to "import" or "link".
