Cool hotmail bug

this days i was a kind of idiot in pc tryin to joke with my friend while he was checking his e-mail so in the time he was sendding an e-mail he clicked on the "send" button and i keep hiting enter in the keyboard... the result was 5 e-mails equal sended to the destination.
So i wanted to joke with my friend and get his e-mail, i logged in my hotmail acount and write an e-mail clicked on the "send" button and keep enter pressed. the result was 99 new e-mails on his inbox lol
i think 99 is the limit of his e-mail soh anybody that wants to joke here is the door.

This may be off-topic, but I have to wonder..

Why are people using hotmail?

Especially those who use Linux and support the free/open software movement?

There are plenty of free alternatives to hotmail.

It works for the same reason that you can double post on a messageboard. Each time you hit enter, you tell your browser to tell the server to post/send your message. Unless the server has a limit to the number of e-mails it can send, you can get away with this.

If someone I know sends me a hundred duplicate e-mails, I know a little revenge would be in order. If you insist on filling the internet with more junk, just be a semi-decent person and don't do this to someone that uses some kind of webmail. Clicking 100 check boxes is not my idea of fun. (If you don't have that many legimate e-mails, I suppose you could use a select all button, assuming the server has it and then uncheck your good e-mails)

hotmail has a limit of 24 e-mails per day or hour i dont know.... but i send a houndred in a minute so its not a simple bug.... c'mon what 2mb is for the entire world traficc i did it just one time a assume it and just did it for curiosity imagine if you were in my shoes... you will do the same just for testing if it works... and about my friend i knew that he uses an e-mail manager to dl the e-mail so his inbox was empty he simply deleted all the e-mails that was there

And if you're sending it to someone on dialup, 2mb of e-mails (plus what they normally get) is going to be a pain.

Hmm. Neat bug. I have to ask, did anyone read the original message? He did it to a friend, not you, not some random person. People seem to be uptight about this, but I've seen practical jokes between friends that were far worse than a hundred messages in the inbox. It's not something to get upset about.

i apreciate the interpretation of the post that Brane Ded did

that was just i was tryin to say.... just one more reason to not use M$
this error could be simply avoided using a simple variable, and i think the comparation of the limt of the e-mails is just == not => cuz i did that joke and i could send e-mails normaly after that, for the message that appears is => but for the e-mail server i think is just == another mistake form the web master.
