I tend to name my computers after things in Chrono Trigger (epoch, lavos, cyrus, glenn, robo) though right now my gaming desktop is named Ragna.

I name mine S10-E-Smith, because thats what the school called the mac they let me use.
The 10 was the year i graduated, the e-smith was my name. the s escapes me, though.

@tuxdev:
way didn't i think of that? chrono trigger is my favorite game!

is there some way to change the computer name in ubuntu (i know to in slackware)?

EDIT: tuxdev, you dual-boot slackware and ubuntu?

Main desktop - hydra5
(I named my desktop "hydra" back in the 90s ... for a while it went "hydra2, hydra3, etc," as I progressed through hardware configurations, but after a while I just liked the sound of "hydra5.")

486 Nameserver and Router - hercules

Son's G3 iMac - rotten
