Clicking hard drive and being cracked?

What are the chances that my clicking hard drive a few weeks ago was caused by someone cracking my system? (I am paranoid) All of a sudden it has stopped, very strange.
I have already got a new HD with Slack10 on it and just need to configure it before I start using it, but I want to make sure all the security stuff is done first.

I wouldn't think you were hacked...

As for the drive.. What is it.. I got a IBM/hitachi that makes some odd clicking. Being a deathstar I figured it would die soon, so I have another drive and the ibm just does non-critical stuff. It still makes a horrible dweeeeak click once and a while, but has been runnin fine for a couple of years now 24/7...

Its a 40 gig western digital only a couple years old from retail box, not bulk. Thats all I have ever used and never had any clicking. I have the same exact drive in 2 other computers, actually they are a bit older WDs but never had any clicking. I just installed a new 80 gig seagate with 8mb bufferto replace this one just in case it dies.

i had a hard drive that clicked for a week then died, bad servo maybe?

What I didnt post is that the clicking stopped immediatly after I changed all my passwords and has not clicked once since then and I have not had any abnormal system behaviour, other than what already is abnormal, lol.
I have got into a habit of changing passwords randomly, sometimes once a week and then sometimes daily, for a week at a time.
