chicks?

what an attention grabbing title! (even though it could mean an entire discourse about the topic of slightly deranged teenage poultry holding kitchen choppers hostage...)

but sadly, no. this thread is about a comment made in another thread that chicks dig "dorks" who Linux (yes, think of that as a verb).

i think the only chick who allows herself to dig cross-eyed glazed-looking geeks is probably stephanie ...

talk about female chilvary... who says it doesn't exist?

Linux is cooler than most chicks anyway. They who do not Linux are the dorks.

You had a statement there, but there's a word missing or two, what heck was it?

Hey, come'on, I'm not cross-eyed and I doubt you are either... glazed-looking? Only at work and four hours after work starting on Thursdays.

Yeah, I think the women Linux users on the planet pretty much are Steph and Isajera (on hiatus; she's suffering from "having a real job" syndrome.) I'm 0 for 3 on ex-girlfriends who dug my hobby. Anyone else?

Oh that's just evil. If that happens, then what's next? I'll tell you, the adverb form: linuxly, and then... pretty soon we're off on an entire prefix-fest, as if -nix as a suffix for everything wasn't bad enough: linuxilicious, linuxittude. No, no no no no no. Demon bad, microsoft bad, basket-full of kittens in a blender bad.

Cheers,

Finegan

I think "moo" (or "mu") is the only possible response here.

while i won't argue with the second statement, the first is ahem... i think still debatable... lol. after all, it's all a matter of perspective.

yea i know we're not cross-eyed fin... just pulling out the ole stereotypical glowing bogeyman from the dark dank corner of the room
as for glazed looking, well, yea at work all the time and also if there's a bunch of poultry hanging around...

I'm a chick and I Linux, so does that make me cooler than me?

(hey, this "Linux" seems to be a nice verb!)

Well, I dont know so much about that. I dont want a guy who looks like a geek or nerd, but it is cool if they like working on computers and Linux and stuff. The most important thing though is that they pay more attention to me than their computer when I need it.. and most of the time those nerds and geeks you stereotypically described would not do that.

In other words... a guy can play with Linux as a hobby, but dont make it his life

Aw, Acid.. you broke my little heart

And whoever said Torvalds doesnt have a chance... I dont know. He is kinda cute. He is smart too. But I think he would have to pay alot of attention to his computer stuff than I would want.

Wink

what's the definiton of 'Linux" in its verb form? it sounds a bit too ambiguous for me right now... too general. let's narrow it down to what it really means.

I'm sorry Stephanie, but I've always reckoned you're actually Stephen. Something I read about posting a picture of yourself which never transpired.

Sorry if I offended you but I just don't know any "chicks" who dig linux.

Bert
