if you can get a degree, do that. my MCSE hasn't gotten me jack squat and i would've MUCH rather gotten my CS degree with the money spent.

It's better to have both, really, though these days you don't need the degree if you have the real-world experience and a cert or two. I graduated from college in December and have no certs, and I am still looking for a job.

Well every job i'm going for demands an MCP, MSCE or something equally expensive... my degree hasn't gotten me anywhere at all so far...

Non-Computer related:

I have certifications out the ... for pharmacy. Lucky me I'm just a technician so that's enough for a decent job. The degree you get from a pharmacy technician is great.... for a door stop ;) It's worthless really, won't get you paid more, won't get you anymore jobs than those without (unless of course you are exactly the same in every way as the other person, then this would push you over the top).

Certifications mean a lot more here than does a degree, to a point. The degree kicks in when you reach a PharmD level. Then the big bux come rolling in. So:
Certifications = Money now, decent enough
Degree = Similar money now, however it was spent on college a lot for the degree, BUT in the long run could turn out the be more than worth the work (PharmD or better = Pharmacist).

:)

Any pharmacists feel free to correct me on the "worth it" bit ;)

Cool

I'm studying for MCSE and so far, the school sucks. We are having problems pasing the tests for MS and we're not being trained for the real world use of it either.

Should have bought the books only.

How about simply doing a search next time.

In fact, you don't even have to do a search for these. The two links below are in the first page with your "new" post.
