I cannot know what the quote was intended to mean, but to me it means that I must be silent while the fools scream their heads off at me and everyone else. Well, I'm ok with that, because stupidity = doom. I will not enlighten you, I will simply let you go your natural path ... towards inevitable doom. You can't say I didn't try to change that.
Notwithstanding all of the above, there is always a need to speak up sometimes.

I for one will miss the certainty of a known viewpoint and a positive post in many threads.

OK

Why ? For many reasons. Mostly because I feel the world is becoming so incredibly stupid and censored to any hint of intelligence.
Don't let the stupid destroy your good mood.

H_TeXMeX_H, you've helped me a lot of the years, especially in the beginning when I was just starting out with linux, thank you for that. You've played a big part in my system being as good as it is.

I dont know whats gone on to prompt your leaving, and I dont really care.

Maybe a break from LQ's is the answer, I know I've left before, its no big deal, do whats right for you, and come back. Times a great healer, as they say, and people dont tend to hold grudges.

I know from the controversial things I've sometimes posted in LQ's over the years that you could glimpse the truth.

But when you're close to the truth, some wont like it, for one reason or another. I know from the issues that Im passionate about. 90% of the time, people give me very negative feedback, not just here but everywhere, and I've taken so much flak for it for years. Its only recently that people have started to think "Damn there may be something to what this guy was saying".

In the beginning its difficult and you feel as you do now, but after a while of sticking it out, and being true to yourself, and arguing your case, it then doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. If you're right and you know it, you develop a real sense of inner confidence, even in the face of everyone disgreeing with you.

Im sure it doesnt feel very good now, but I think you'll recover and come back stronger. You strike me as an open minded and emotional guy, and thats a tough combination in this world, its an organic process of suffering and discovery, it was for me, but the rewards are amazing if you tough it out, I did, and now treat life as a game, even when 90% are against me. Its beautiful when you get here, but you've got to go through the process!

Take care man, and if you do leave I hope to see you back on LQs in the future.

There seems to be more to this story. Some personal, healh, money issue. It should be trivial to ignore odd postings. There are too many technical posts from the OP to think otherwise. Maybe iron poor blood.

I guess the change may be true. Maybe more common users are trying linux where before it was limited to a few tech types.

If one were to be interested in linux then they would find this site a value to both the user and the people trying to help.

If one were to dwell on some of the non-linux forums and get into some arguments then I could see how one might be upset. They are there to vent some steam. I have lived in many places in my kind of long life and find that there is a whole world of opinions and views.

Far Side comic had it best. I think the caption was like and on the eight day God sprinkled some idiots on the world.

I tend to find that people who I feel are idiots also feel that I am one also. It is only fair.

Hiya H_TeXMeX_H
Not here to tell you to stay or leave, that's up to you, I'd just as soon you didn't leave though.
Regardless of your choice Take care and best of wishes.

lest we forget...

I have been a Gnu/Linux user for about a year, and have pretty much been a member of LQ for that time too. As i travel through the forums here at LQ, there are some handles that i see fairly often and have grown to identify. H_TeXMeX_H was; 'the paranoid guy'. Whether his paranoia was appropriate, i can not say, but it gave me a smile as i appreciate individuality, and now he's gone, that smile has turned away. Go forth mysterious warrior; and i along with others will hope you return.
